COVID-19 Case Reporting

Anchor Bay is following all contact tracing and reporting requirements per the Macomb County Health Department. Specifically, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) issued an Emergency Order requiring K-12 schools to provide public notice to the school community about probable and confirmed cases of COVID-19 within 24 hours. 

During the 2020-2021 school year, we will post information on this page as Anchor Bay School District is informed by the Health Department of school-associated cases of COVID-19 amongst students, teachers, staff members, volunteers, or any other person who was present on school property or at a school function under circumstances that may result in the transmission or contraction of COVID-19 during their infectious period.

If the Macomb County Health Department identifies your child as a close contact with a confirmed case, you will be contacted by phone. After all students who have been directly impacted are contacted, a letter will be sent to alert parents of a positive case within the school building.   

 

 

 

  • 5/28/2021 -A staff member at Anchor Bay High School tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, the Macomb County Health Department determined there were no exposures.  
  • 5/27/2021 - A student at Anchor Bay Middle School North tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, the Macomb County Health Department determined there were a total of 31 exposures and 11 (within 3 feet) of those must quarantine through June 6, 2021.  The remaining exposures were outside of 3 feet but within 6 feet and do not have to quarantine.  If the quarantine students remain symptom-free they may return June 7, 2021. 
  • 5/21/2021 - A student at Great Oaks Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, the Macomb County Health Department determined there were 4 exposures who must quarantine through May 29, 2021. If the exposed remain symptom free they may return June 1, 2021. 
  • 5/20/2021 - A student at Anchor Bay Middle School North tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, the Macomb County Health Department determined there were 31 exposures who must quarantine through June 1, 2021. If the exposed remain symptom free they may return June 2, 2021. 
  • 5/20/2021 - A student at Anchor Bay Middle School South tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, the Macomb County Health Department determined there were 8 exposures who must quarantine through June 3, 2021. If the exposed remain symptom free they may return June 4, 2021.

  • 5/11/2021 - A student at Anchor Bay High School tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, the Macomb County Health Department determined there were 6 exposures who must quarantine through May 17, 2021. If the exposed remain symptom free they may return on May 18, 2021.  
  • 5/10/2021 - A student at Anchor Bay Middle School South tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, the Macomb County Health Department determined there was 22 exposures that must quarantine through May 17, 2021. If the exposed remain symptom free they may return on May 18, 2021, and continue to monitor themselves for symptoms.
