The Business Services Department supports the district by managing essential business operations. These operations include but are not limited to budget management, financial planning, accounting responsibilities, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee insurance/benefits, grant reporting, debt service, banking, investments and audit compliance.

2025 Insurance Information and Enrollment Documents
Open enrollment will be November 1-15, 2024.
If you are contractually eligible for benefits, please follow these instructions during Open Enrollment:
EVERYONE WITH EXISTING MESSA COVERAGE IS REQUIRED TO LOG IN AND CONFIRM YOUR ELECTIONS. (This does apply to ALL TEACHERS/ABEA. )
- There will be an open enrollment email sent through MESSA.
- Log in to MESSA Website: https://secure.messa.org/MemberPortal/Login
- Password/Login issues – contact MESSA Member Services at 1.800.336.0013
- Rates for 2025 will show in the MESSA system (monthly rate is posted).
- Waived medical coverage:
- Teachers that waive medical coverage must still log in to MESSA and confirm elections and beneficiaries, fill out the online Talent Ed payroll form, and provide proof of medical coverage
- Other union groups that waive medical coverage need to fill out the payroll form and provide proof of medical coverage – If you would like to opt-in to coverage for 2025, please contact me for a user id.
Employees with SETSEG Medical, Vision, Dental, Life, LTD Coverage also need to log in and confirm your elections. (Teachers/ABEA do NOT have SETSEG)
- An open enrollment email will be sent on November 1st through SETSEG/Employee Navigator with a link to login – there will be a green button that says “Start Enrollment” once you log in to your account. The window for enrollment will be open until November 15th for SETSEG.
- Everyone with coverage will need to log in and confirm coverages and beneficiaries.
ACA – MESSA Essentials
- If you qualify for Affordable Care Act coverage and currently take MESSA Essentials coverage, please follow the instructions above for existing MESSA coverage.
- If you qualify for ACA and do not currently take the coverage, but would like to for 2025, please contact cschell@abs.misd.net for a user id.
- If you have questions about your eligibility for benefits, please contact call x1809.
Required forms – Everyone eligible for medical coverage must sign and send back a payroll deduction form
- Teachers/ABEA, Admin, Paras, Central members will be using our HR Talent Ed system to streamline the annual forms required. You will receive an email to fill out the form until complete. If you are waiving medical insurance, it will ask you to upload proof of insurance (a photo of your card works) You will get a daily reminder until this step is complete.
- All other groups will use the standard payroll deduction form available below.
