Returning Student Annual Update Forms

We are asking parents to verify/update their student information through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please complete the Returning Student Annual Update forms no later than September 15, 2026. These forms are located in the Parent Portal under Forms in the left navigation window, and then under the General Forms tab. The forms included in the update are:

Health Information
Student Address
Student Contacts & Custody
Permissions/Agreements
Transportation Request Form
Tribal Affiliation Data Collection

ADDRESS CHANGES WITHIN DISTRICT

If your address has changed within Anchor Bay School District, please be sure to update the Student Address form and provide us with two (2) proofs of residency and your photo I.D. for the new address. Proofs of Residency can be uploaded through the form or they can be turned into your student’s school on or after August 17^th.

MOVED OUT OF THE DISTRICT

If you have moved out of the Anchor Bay School District and want your student to continue enrollment through Anchor Bay Schools, please update the Student Address form and provide us with two (2) proofs of residency and your photo I.D. for the new address. Proofs of Residency can be uploaded through the form or they can be turned into your student’s school on or after August 17th. You will also need to complete the 2026-2027 Out of District Schools of Choice Application which is located under Forms in the left navigation window and then under the Enrollment tab in the Parent Portal. The Schools of Choice application window ends on September 3, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. NOTE: If you have completed the Schools of Choice Application and been approved in a previous year, you do not need to complete the form again unless your student has left the district and now wants to return.

Enroll Now for Next School Year!!!!

Applications will be accepted for Schools of Choice from February 12, 2026 through September 3, 2026 at 3:30 p.m.

2026-2027 Schools of Choice is available for Kindergarten/Young Fives through 11^th grade.

Placement at requested schools is dependent on class size and availability. The date for enrollment shall be no later than the end of the first week of school which is September 4, 2026.

The following documents are required to be submitted with your Schools of Choice Application:

Statement of Prior Discipline Record
Discipline report/print-out from former school for the previous two years
Child’s current report card (high school students must also include current transcript)
Child’s most current IEP if your child is presently receiving any special education programs or services

Please apply for Schools of Choice by completing the Enrollment Express Pre-Registration Link:

Select Enrollment School as the Resident School and answer the Schools of Choice questions.
When the pre-registration form is approved, you will receive an email with instructions to create an online Parent Portal Account.
From the Parent Portal, the following enrollment forms must be competed:
1. Student Demographics
2. Previous Enrollment and Records Release
3. Discipline Record
4. 2026-2027 Out of District Schools of Choice Application
If your Schools of Choice Application is approved, you will receive an email indicating your child’s placement.
1. You will need to log back into the Parent Portal to complete the remainder of the enrollment forms.
2. Your child’s enrollment is complete when all forms are completed and you have submitted the required documents:
  - Birth Certificate
  - Immunization Record
  - Parent Photo ID
  - Two (2) proofs of residency
  - Hearing and Vision Screening (kindergarten and Young Fives only)
  - Oral Health Assessment (kindergarten and Young Fives only)

Kindergarten Options at Anchor Bay

Traditional Full-Day Kindergarten

Children must be 5 years old by September 1st of the school year in which they plan on attending Kindergarten.
Curriculum is based on the Michigan Standards for Kindergarten.

Young Fives

Young Fives is a full day program designed for children turning 5 years old between June 1st and December 1st.
Gives children an extra year before attending Kindergarten.
The Young Fives curriculum is based on the Michigan Standards for Kindergarten modified to meet the foundational academic, social/ emotional, and developmental needs for younger children.
Schools of Choice is available for both programs.
