Latest Superintendent Communication

Dear Parents,

Welcome Back!  Hopefully each of you were able to enjoy some time with family and get outside for some much-needed sunshine and fresh air.  As we return from break, I wish to remind everyone to remain diligent and follow all preventative measures such as frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing masks. Please keep your children home from school if they are displaying any symptoms and follow the home self-checker each day. Together, we can provide a positive end to the school year and help keep our kids engaged and actively learning.

The Macomb County Health Department has made a change to the required quarantine period for individuals deemed a close contact to those who have tested positive for COVID-19. The quarantine period is 14 days from last exposure. Anchor Bay is adopting this change effective April 12, 2021. The exposed individuals to any positive cases will have to quarantine for 14 days until further notice. For more information on this change, please click here:,9753,7-406-99891---,00.html

Thank you,

Todd Rathbun, Interim Superintendent

Student Mask Information - The Governor has amended Executive Order 2020-185. This amendment expands the requirement to wear a mask in the classroom to all students Kindergarten and up.  The amendment does not change the requirement for those students who are medically unable to wear a mask.  Those with proper medical documentation will not be required.  If you have any questions, please speak with your Principal.

Mental Health Resources

With the closure of public schools in Michigan, the Anchor Bay School District wants to ensure that all students still have access to mental health services.  We realize that this time may be very stressful for everyone involved.
