Cyber Security - at the forefront

            As technology continues to advance, the need to have individuals experienced in the field of protecting one's technology and information becomes greater and greater, to help meet this need, Anchor Bay has added a Cyber Security class to the ever-growing list of possible Career and Technical Education courses available at Anchor Bay High School.

            As technology continues to advance, the need to have individuals experienced in the field of protecting one’s technology and information becomes greater and greater, to help meet this need, Anchor Bay has added a Cyber Security class to the ever-growing list of possible Career and Technical Education courses available at Anchor Bay High School.

            Students in Mrs. Zainea’s class will explore concepts of safety on the internet, information protection, programming language, cryptic coding, technology law, ethical cyber hacking and much more. Students may be interested in working for government agencies or in private industry with one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security +, CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker, GSEC: SANS GIAC Security Essentials, CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional, and CISM: Certified Information Security Manager

            They will also be attending the North American and International Cyber Summit Conference in Detroit.  Students will have the option to enter the Cyber Range, Connect in Alphaville, and Play Capture the Flag. While in class students will also meet with and connect with workers in the Cyber Security industry within the military and in private sectors.  Students will also have the chances to participate in TED talks. Mrs. Zainea’s says that the “TED talks are always a huge hit with everyone!”
