Student Health

The health and safety of Anchor Bay School District students is always of vital importance. A particular concern is bacterial skin infections such as methicillin -resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). When parents report that their student has been diagnosed with such infections, the school district takes immediate action notifying the appropriate health officials, having the custodial staff follow health department guidelines to clean high-touch or soiled surfaces throughout the building and alerting staff and parents.

School administrators may be contacted with health concerns affecting their child in school. It is always a good ideal to encourage measures that reduce the spread of bacteria including good hand washing, not sharing personal items and keeping wounds covered. We encourage parents to reinforce these measures with their children at home.
