Overview

Although Anchor Bay Schools receives the lowest foundation allowance per pupil not only in Macomb County but also in the State of Michigan, we are proud of the fact that our students continue to exceed both state and county average scores in the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) and the Michigan Merit Exam (MME). We are proud of the fact that all of our schools are NCA accredited and have met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) with the Michigan Department of Education.

Anchor Bay Middle School North, Middle School South, Ashley Elementary, Sugarbush Elementary, Dean A. Naldrett Elementary, Lottie M. Schmidt Elementary, Great Oaks Elementary, MacDonald Elementary, Lighthouse Elementary and Maconce Elementary Schools all received an A, with our high school receiving a B, on the Michigan School Report Card. All of the district's teachers meet the state's highly qualified standards and are dedicated to student success.

Our operational and administrative costs are far below the average across the county and state, as we continue to keep our focus on student needs and services.

Anchor Bay's transportation, custodial and food service costs are among the most cost efficient support programs in both Macomb County and the State of Michigan. Our food service department is entirely self-supportive. We have a dedicated staff who are committed to providing the best for our students and their families.

As energy costs continue to soar, Anchor Bay Schools has continually reduced energy costs over the past three years by implementing an energy conservation plan.
